Marc Polson Volunteer Coach

Marcus “Marc” Polson was born in England and entered the Navy in 1996 after graduating from Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania. He later graduated with a Masters of Science of Strategic Intelligence from the Joint Military Intelligence College. He started swimming as a toddler and continued through college, where he competed at the DIII level. Despite a rigorous/demanding schedule while serving in the US Navy (27+years), he continued supporting his for love for swimming on deck as a coach.

Marc began his official coaching career in 2017 with Joe Flaherty’s Dolphins, where he took on a leading role dedicated to stroke technique for the older age groups. He was later hand selected to provide additional coaching in support of the Fitter & Faster tour, that operates across the country. To complement his coaching passion and Navy career, he joined the Navy coaching staff at the US Naval Academy summer program, where he coaches alongside former and current Olympic swimmers as well as national level NCAA and professional coaches from across the world.

When not on deck coaching PVS swimmers, Marc can also be found in the pool, attempting to get back into the sport and once again competing, this time at the Masters level. During the summer months, he can also be found on deck at summer meets, supporting the Montgomery County Swim League (MCSL) as a certified Referee, Stroke & Turn official, or starter.

His most recent update to his swim career, was a transition over to the HydroSonic Tiburones (TIBU).
